After a comprehensive analysis, Fibrelines Engineering and Batch Mill Operations groups determined that shock loads were occurring when residual liquid in the blow lines drained from an adjacent digester. In addition, the metal seated ball valves were susceptible to mechanical impact. Any hard object striking the seats or balls with sufficient force could deform the ball.

After a test installation and a lot of extremely positive feedback, Batch Mill decided to replace all blow valves with the Stargate-O-Port-Valve^® Big Blow™.
